Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool on this page runs inside your browser using the Canvas, File and Web Crypto APIs together with client-side libraries. Your images, PDFs and video files stay on your device, and passwords are never transmitted or saved. Because processing happens on your own hardware, very large files are limited by your device memory rather than an upload limit.
Is this tool free to use?
Yes. All of the image, PDF, PDF security and video utilities here are free to use, with no account or sign-up required. There is no watermark added to your exported files.
Which PDF tools are available?

Can I protect a PDF with a password?
Yes. The Protect PDF tool applies genuine PDF standard-security encryption in your browser — AES-128 (PDF 1.7) or AES-256 (PDF 2.0) — so any compliant PDF reader will ask for the password before opening the document. The Unlock PDF tool removes that protection when you supply the correct password. Owner-password-only restrictions and unusual or DRM-based encryption schemes cannot always be processed in a browser, and you will get a clear message when that happens.
Which browsers support video export?
Video capture and export rely on the MediaRecorder and canvas capture APIs, which are well supported in recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera, and in Safari 14.1 and later with some codec differences. Exports are produced as WebM where the browser supports it; if your browser only offers MP4 recording, the tool tells you which container it actually used. Screen recording additionally needs a desktop browser and permission to share a screen. Each video tool checks for support when it opens and explains what is unavailable instead of failing silently.

PDF compression works by re-rendering each page as an image at a lower resolution and JPEG quality, which reduces file size but also removes selectable text. Use the lightest preset when text sharpness matters.
